    We supply all types of Tulsi (Rama and Shyama) dried leaves and panchang. Tulsi is an upright bushy shrub that grows up to 2 feet approx. It's hairy stems sprout oval leaves with serrated edges, and depending on the variety, range in color from light green to dark purple. The tulsi plant blooms erect purple or reddish flowers. It has a strong, pungent aroma and taste that is similar in all varieties. For cultivation, it is generally propagated through seeds.

    General characteristics

    Tulsi (Ocimum basilicum; Ocimum sanctum) is a widely grown, sacred plant of India. The natural habitat of Tulsi varies from sea level to an altitude of 2000m. This is a much branched annual herb which grows up to 30 to 60 cms in height. Leaves and stem are purplish in colour. Leaves are aromatic and oblong, obtuse or acute, serrate, and hairy. Flowers of Tulsi are small bilabiate with short life giving large number of seeds. Flowers are rarely longer than 5 mm, calyx tube bearded outside near base. Flower tube is hairy.

     
    Medicinal Benefits/ Uses

    Tulsi plant and its various parts are used to cure insect bite, fever, cardiac diseases, gynecological disorders, respiratory problems, skin disorders, etc. It is used as voice improver and acts as a germicide and bactericide. It is good blood purifier and regularizes digestive tract because of its light potency. It is good to prevent malaria and an effective pain killer. Tulsi seeds are useful in controlling of blood sugar and management of diabetes.

    It is helpful in improving sperm count and skin disorders. It helps in relieving from fever, headache, sore throat, cold, cough, flu and chest congestion, respiratory ailments like chronic bronchitis, asthma. It resolves any kind of fever. It’s powerful anti-oxidant component ‘Eugenol’ protects heart by keeping blood pressure under control and lowering cholesterol levels.
